We had a very small outdoor program a couple of weeks ago. Only 3 children attended but look what they accomplished with a little co-operation. The rhododendrons were starting to shed their blooms so the children collected flowers and decorated what was already a beautiful magical play space underneath the trees.
Two weeks later we returned to the spot only to find the flowers were gone. Why? This was a good opportunity to learn that flowers cannot survive when they no longer are growing on the shrub. Disappointing but true.
So glad we captured the experience as it happened! I wonder if anyone else happened upon this fairy land before the blooms started to decompose…
